Sahibabad: Passengers traveling from Hindon Airport will no longer be able to take photos of the airbase and runway with their mobile phones. If anyone does so, the concerned airline company will be held responsible.
This decision has been taken for security reasons. Recently, people had taken photos of the airbase and runway and shared them on social media. Air Force officials objected to this, and subsequently, this decision was made.
ACP Shweta Kumari, in charge of airport security, said that this decision was taken for security reasons because the airport is connected to an Air Force station.
“The concerned airline companies have been informed that no passenger should take photos from the aircraft window after boarding the flight,” he told the media.
“If anyone takes photos or videos of the area outside the window, the airline company will be held accountable. If someone posts such photos or videos on social media, that person will also be contacted and questioned about the matter,” he added.
On Sunday, IndiGo launched new direct flights from Hindon Airport, connecting nine major cities of India with Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. These cities are Bengaluru, Kolkata, Varanasi, Goa, Patna, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Indore. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu launched the new flight routes from Hindon Airport.
“This is an (Udan) success of Hindon, Ghaziabad, western Uttar Pradesh, and the entire country. This is an Udan of the ambitions and aspirations of common Indians. Airlines’ fleet, airports, terminal capacity, and flyers have doubled in India over the past decade, reflecting the growth India’s civil aviation sector has made. During 2024-2034, civil aviation in tier II and III cities will grow and we will have to unlock the potential. Hindon will serve as an example,” the minister told the media at the Hindon airport.
“We are committed to enhancing the aviation infrastructure across India to enable seamless and convenient service connecting the smallest towns in the country with the growing cities and metros. The Hindon Airport developed, under the UDAN Scheme in Ghaziabad, is offering the convenience of proximity to people living in Ghaziabad, Noida and Western UP. With the growing connectivity and passenger footfall at Hindon, we are working for the expansion of the terminal building,” the minister added.
